January 21/22:- Opera in the Alps, Beechworth, featuring.  Australian Music Events is thrilled to have Australian soprano Helena Dix, direct from London, appear as guest  soprano for 2012. Helena is a former Opera Scholar of the Year and is    currently stunning audiences in Europe. She represented Australia at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. Guest tenor will be Boyd Owen. Boyd was Scholar of the Year in 1996 and is now one of the renowned Ten Tenors singing all over the world.  It is his voice on the Carlton & United advertisement singing Nessun Dorma. James Morrison, Australian jazz musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist, renowned for his trumpet playing, will be another guest artist along with Guy Noble, one of     Australia’s most sought-after and entertaining conductors. The event will be staged at the picturesque grounds of Mayday Hills Oval at Beechworth, Opera in the Alps is a magical evening of classical favourites now established as one of regional Victoria’s cultural highlights. The theme of the Program for 2012 will be “The Best of Opera in the Alps”; approximately 150 pieces have been performed since Opera in the Alps began at Mt Buffalo 16 years ago. On Saturday enjoy a magical luncheon cruise on Lake Mulwala, 3 course dinner, overnight accommodation in Wangaratta,  On Sunday we visit Milawa Mustards, Milawa Cheese Factory ~Cheese Tasting and Brown Bros. Winery

 

March 3/ 4:- A Chorus Line,  Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne, In an empty theatre, on a bare stage, casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete. For 17 dancers, this audition is the chance of a lifetime. It's what they've worked for - with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every day of their lives. It's the one opportunity to do what they've always dreamed - to have the chance to dance.

This is A Chorus Line, the story of the ones who make it and the ones who don't. Told through captivating song,    riveting drama and stunning choreography, they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers.

March 30:- Adam Harvey &Amber Lawrence, Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre  Adam Harvey, one of Australia's most accomplished Country Music performers, reaches a new pinnacle of achievement with his seventh studio album FALLING INTO PLACE. With a career that spans 10 years, 3 Gold albums, total sales upwards of 300,000 albums and 7 Golden Guitar Awards; including 2 for Album of The Year and 2 more for Male Vocalist of The Year, Harvey is already at the forefront of Australia's most acclaimed Country Music entertainers and has the runs on the board to show for it.Adam is joined by Amber Lawrence who was a top 5 Golden Guitar finalist for "Female Artist of the Year", "Video Clip of the Year" and the coveted "APRA Song of the Year" for the title track "When It All Comes Down".  This all follows on from her 2009 APRA Music awards nomination for Country Work of the Year ("Good Girls"), Female Vocalist of the Year Award (Victorian National Awards) and her award for Independent Artist of the Year (2008) at the Southern Star Indy Country Music Awards.

 

April 13:- David Campbell, Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre,   Initially inspired by the revolutionary 'second British invasion' of the early '80s, Let's Go is sure to be the biggest summer party album of 2011 and features hits including Let's Go, Shout To The Top, Come on Eileen, I'm Your Man and Tainted Love.  On the new album Campbell says "For this album, I wanted to put a fresh spin on some dance-pop classics with a big-band brass and string sound."David is one of the country's most popular entertainers. Known for his energetic LIVE shows, and selling out tours from coast to coast - expect nothing less from this next Tour.  

 

June 16/17:-Annie the Musical, Regent Theatre Melbourne. The timeless tale of Little Orphan Annie is back giving a whole new generation the chance to experience this classic musical about never giving up hope. Boasting one of Broadway's most memorable scores, including It's the Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, N.Y.C. and the ever-optimistic Tomorrow, ANNIE is one of the most awarded and loved musicals of all time.

Reprising one of his all-time favourite roles as the charismatic and sophisticated New York 'zillionaire' Daddy Warbucks, is Anthony Warlow. He will be joined by the ever-popular Nancye Hayes playing everyone's favourite villain Miss Hannigan. Todd McKenney, Chloë Dallimore and Julie Goodwin also bring their talents to this delightful musical. And in a special treat, radio star Alan Jones, will join the cast in the role of Franklin D. Roosevelt

Jon English has been working tirelessly to unearth, refine and rediscover a whole lot more from the great rock'n'roll archives to bring you 'Rock Revolution'! Experience more of your favourite classics, remember the songs you thought you'd forgotten, and breathe a sign of relief when you hear the one you believed was gone forever. You won't want to miss this great evening of 60's and 70's rock'n'roll, so get out your diary, phone your friends and get ready for a rollicking good time fabulous music, lots of laughter, and             multi-talented musicians all wrapped up into one unforgettable theatrical concert!
